Holiday Valley Patroller Dan Meess (L) was presented with the 2011 Eastern Division Outstanding Patrol Director Award by WNY RD Don Weaver. 


On Monday, November 14th, Deborah Whalen of the Genesee Valley Nordic Patrol was presented with the 2010-2011 Eastern Division Outstanding Nordic Patroller Award by GVR RD Bob Andre at a region staff meeting. She was also the recipient of a Silver Merit Star as the runner-up for National Outstanding Nordic Patroller of the Year.



On Sunday November 13, 2011 Chris Pringle EMARI Region Director (L) presented Claude Morneault
of the Bradford Ski Patrol with his National Appointment.  The presentation took place
at Ski Bradford’s annual patrol fall business meeting.


John Clark was awarded a Lifetime membership for 50 years of service to the NSP. John served as Patrol Director at Seven Springs, PA for many years. He has also patrolled at Willowbrook, and is currently patrolling at Hidden Valley, PA. The award was presented by Western Section Chief Guy Lombardo and Western Appalachian Region Director Marty Silverman at the Instructor Refresher at Seven Springs on August 21, 2011.
 



On June 11, 2011, CNY RD Noel Rios presented the Eastern Division Outstanding Small Alpine Patrol Award to the Old Forge Ski Patrol.



The George F. Wesson, Jr. Outstanding Professional Patroller Award was presented to Scott Mundrick, BMSP, by GVR RD Bob André on Sunday, 5/22/11, at the Bristol Ski Patrol Picnic.

On Friday, 5/6/11, at the Hunt Hollow (GVR) Awards Banquet, three National Distinguished Service Awards were presented:

Skip Millor, Presented by National Board Member John Lawson.

Marcia Mundrick, presented by RD Bob André.

Bill Gamble, Presented by ED awards Advisor Jerry Sherman. 

The presenters and recipients with Region Legal Advisor Henry Williams (R).



A special award has been presented at the Hidden Valley Ski Patrol, NJ Region:


After the ski area closed and during the closing of our Summit building, Mogul our Golden Retriever Mascot was seriously injured with a large chest wound by a tree branch. Her owners Jim (JC) and Debbie Cowell, HVSP Patrollers rushed her to the hospital for many stitches and an over night stay. She is doing just great now.

At the HVSP end of season meeting, Mogul was presented with a Blue Bone Star certificate and a bandana which she proudly wears. This was presented by Patrol Director Dave Nelson and NJ Region Awards Advisor Sue Ellen Helmacy.


On Sunday, November 14, 2010 at the Bradford, MA Ski Area, two significant presentations were made:

Bradford Patroller Greg Heath (Left) was presented with a National Distinguished Service Award from EMARI Region Director Chris Pringle. Greg has patrolled over 35 years at Bradford providing a solid training program for OEC and S&T at the mountain.

Dennis Gauvin, Patrol Director at Bradford, presented a memorial plaque dedicating the Bradford Patrol top hut as the “Marshall Buell Patrol Hut”. Marshall passed away in May of this year. Marshall was a longtime patroller at Bradford. Receiving the plaque from Patrol Director Dennis Gauvin are (Center) Wanda Buell (Marshall's Wife), Laura Buell (Daughter), and Robert Buell (Son & Bradford Patroller).


On October 31, 2010, the members of the Ski Roundtop Patrol, EPA Region at their On-hill Refresher presented a plaque and gold watch to Ed Hirshman in recognition of his induction into the Pennsylvania Ski & Winter Sports Museum's Hall of Fame, Class of 2010, and in appreciation of his 43 years of outstanding service to the National Ski Patrol and the Ski Roundtop Patrol. Eddie is still an active Patroller in the EPA region.
