Annual Eastern Division 2010 Awards Report
Awards 2009 – 2010 Where do I start, with a big thank you for everyone. THANKS!
Everyone worked their butts off this year, one of the best years for awards I can remember.
Boy was I busy! Only one month with zero awards and the rest great numbers. Every Region had at least one award this year. Some had a great deal more. We even surpassed the Number of Eastern Division Patriot Star Awards.
We have had a good turnout for the National Outstanding awards this year. I would ask that you as RDs and SCs go back to your Regions and Sections and push for more Outstanding's to be done for next year. I would love to have at least 3 applicants for each category so I could give awards out for 1st 2nd and 3rd next year. If I don’t get 3 in a category I can’t do it for anyone.
I did not receive any awards for Outstanding Auxiliary or Outstanding Small Patrol. This is much better than last year but, let me be selfish, I want them all. I am sorry, but I want to submit a winner for every Outstanding category that I can. We are so close this year.
Please ask your Awards Advisors thruout the year if they need your help and give them your input and support. I was asked last year to continue with better communications. I believe we have accomplished that, but feel we can always do better from both directions.
I would like to thank Rick Hamlin for his leadership over the past 6 years. I believe him to be that true sled-pulling, hard-working Administrator we should all strive to be. Rick, thanks for setting the example for all. However, now I have to break in a new DD. Oh joy! Oh rapture!
As you all know we had the privilege to have Myer Avedovech as our guest for my awards meeting and the rest of the Spring Officers' Meeting. Make sure you thank him for all the work he does for Eastern Division. It is substantial!
Awards and your patrollers are worth it.
Respectfully submitted,
William J. Boulter
