For several years, Genesee Valley Patrollers have been providing setup, trail clearing, Parking/transportation and EMS services to the annual Stuart Horse Trials in Victor, NY. Here are a few pictures of the Patrollers at work over the last 5 years.
On Friday, July 16th, Henry Williams was honored for his service as Eastern Division Legal Advisor, from which he is retiring this year. The dinner party was hosted by Genesee Valley RD Bob André at his home on the grounds of the Stuart Horse Trials in Victor, NY. Attending were Division Director John Shipman, Past DD Jerry Sherman, National Board Reps John Lawson (GVR) and Jim Decker (WNY), National OEC Program Director Ed McNamara, GVR Assistant RD's Marcia Mundrick and John Topping, Past GV RD Mike Lord, and your reporter, ED Webmaster Bill Gamble. Past DD Rick Hamlin was unable to attend, but was reached by cell phone to congratulate Henry. Pictures of the evening are HERE.

The Gunstock, NH Ski Patrol celebrated Easter 2,267 feet above sea level with bagpipes, the Prayer of Tecumseh, burning prayer flags and a wilderness sermon. A YouTube video of the event has been provided here:

Patrollers Wed On Mountain Top
On December 27, 2009 patrollers John Tuttle & Sonja (Sunny) Murray were married in a mountain top ceremony at Labrador Mt. Ski Area. This was the first time that NSP Ski Patrollers had ever tied the knot on the Central Peak at Labrador. Guests were carried up the mountain on the triple chair, where the bride was escorted by CNY Region Director, Noel J. Rios, to the ceremony. The nuptials were performed on the deck of the Ski Patrol facility by fellow Patroller & Judge Bryan Hedges while the Patrol, guests, & the skiing public enjoyed the event. The Best Man was Nathan S. Tuttle, son of the groom. The Maid of Honor was Chantele M. Murray, daughter of the bride. At the end of the ceremony the Bride & Groom passed under an arch of crossed ski poles. A reception was held at the Orchard Vali Golf Club in Lafayette, NY. The CNY Region wishes John & Sunny many happy turns.
