Nordicfest 2002
Nordicfest 2002 will be held Sat. & Sun. Jan 26-27, 2002 at Highland Forest in Fabius, NY. It is open to all Nordic and Alpine patrollers. On Saturday you will have the option of a Nordic Skier Enhancement Seminar combined with a session on Back Country Evacuation, or a Nordic Senior S&T Evaluation. Sunday will be a session on down hill skills at a local down hill area.
Facilities at Highland Forest will be at Pine Camp which has a bunkroom (bring your sleeping bag) and a communal room. It will be open Friday night if you want to arrive then. A communal dinner will be held on Saturday night (probably some kind of pasta) but all other meals are up to individual participants. Restaurants are an unreasonable distance away, so plan accordingly. There is a stove available in the communal room.
Cost for the weekend including all instruction, evaluation, lifts on Sun. AM, bunk space, Sat. evening dinner and the opportunity to bond with fellow patrollers is only $40.

Directions to Highland Forest: From Interstate 81 take the Tully exit (1/2 way between Syracuse and Cortland, NY) Get on County Rt. 80 heading East (You will go through Tully, Apulia Station Apulia, and Fabius) for Approx.11 miles. There will be signs for Highland Forest on the right. We will be in Pine Camp above the office.
