NSP 75th Anniversary

1938 - 2013

Vermont Ski and Snowboard Museum NSP Exhibit

We have received a letter from fellow Patroller Rick Hamlin, Board Chairman of the Vermont Ski and Snowboard Museum, seeking interest in the museum establishing a permanent NSP exhibit, to complement the 75th Anniversary Stone Bench dedicated there this past fall. The Museum will move forward with the new exhibit if at least 200 NSP members, Alumni and/or family of NSP members join the museum by June 1, 2013. All Patrollers in the Eastern Division are encouraged to join. Details of how to join are in the VSSM Letter.

Over 200 Patrollers gathered in Stowe, VT on October 20th, 2012 for the dedication of the NSP 75th Anniversary Stone Bench and Time Capsule.

This celebration was a kick-off event in observance of 75 years of service and safety to all who ski. The event included the dedication of a permanent stone sculpture, in the form of a bench. This bench was commissioned and created by a well-known artist in northern Vermont. Stowe, Vermont was chosen not only because of the Vermont Ski and Snowboard Museum, but also because it was where the NSP originated by Charles "Minnie" Dole. The culminating ceremony included the museum's induction of Minnie Dole into its Hall of Fame.
