NSP Hires New Full Time Executive Director!

NSP has hired Tim White to serve as its Executive Director and Chief Operating officer. He will start his new job on June 18.  In a break from the tradition of the past 17 years where the NSP had shared its Executive Director with another organization, Mr. White’s efforts will be for the NSP on a full time basis.

White began his career in ski area operations in 1976 at Hunter Mountain in New York and also spent eight years as a senior claims specialist with Willis of New Hampshire, a company that provides insurance within the snowsports industry. For the past 14 years, White served as the education director for the National Ski Areas Association, the trade association for ski area owners and operators in the United States. In that capacity, White’s accomplishments included spearheading the development and implementation of the ski industry’s Head’s Up National Slope Safety campaign, shepherding the popular Fall Education Seminar series, and developing numerous ski industry training and resource materials.

“Leadership changes are always tough on an organization but those are behind us now,” said White upon becoming NSP’s Executive Director. “The NSP Board of Directors is in the process of putting foundation blocks in place that will help ensure NSP’s future stability and success. It is an exciting time for the organization, and I am happy to have the opportunity to put my industry knowledge and experience to work for the NSP membership and the board.”

Said newly elected NSP National Chairman Terry LaLiberte, “Tim brings to his new position with NSP a fresh perspective and a host of new ideas for the future of our association. He is energetic and has vast knowledge of the snowsports industry, which will be a real benefit to the NSP. The board of directors has confidence in Tim’s ability to move us forward, and is eager to work with him.”
