COVID-19 Information & Recommendations
The Eastern Division Board of Directors (EDBOD) has been monitoring the evolving situation with respect to COVID-19. The EDBOD has not taken this health concern lightly. The health and safety of all of our members are a priority. We have taken guidance from our Medical Advisor(s) and the information of both the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) on recommendations for preparedness and prevention recommendations.
The below documents were developed and updated by a task force within the Eastern Division (Continuity of Operations Eastern Division – COOPED-UP) to provide guidance to patrollers while operating under the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to the rapidly changing updates and information regarding the virus, this document should be considered a “living document” with additional changes and updates disseminated for the Fall and Winter.
Please use the recommended guidelines in conjunction with your area management. In addition, local, county, state and federal protocols need to be adhered to. The task force recognizes that many mountain operations have begun to open for summer activities and individual protocols have been established. These guidelines should not override established protocols but be used to enhance safety measures for patrollers and the public.
