Understanding and Managing Stress![]() Ski Patrollers are likely to experience critical incidents on the hill, which can lead to a range of stress reactions—any of which, including none at all, are normal. These reactions can vary in form, intensity, and timing, sometimes emerging long after the event. Even routine rescues can trigger them. Support from peers and family helps speed recovery, and awareness of potential stress reactions can improve preparedness.
A Patrol Stress Awareness Forum takes place on the second Wednesday of each month at 7 PM. All patrol members are invited.
