Contributions to the National Ski Patrol:
Bill Cline joined the National Ski Patrol in 1976 as a member of the Hidden Valley Ski Patrol in Western Pennsylvania. He achieved his Senior Alpine patroller status in 1978 and advanced to Certified status in 1991. He has been a remarkably active Instructor and Instructor Trainer in the Outdoor Emergency Transportation arena through is support of Eastern Division Patrollers Schools and innumerable training events for the Senior and Certified Programs. He has supported the Eastern Division Certified Program serving as an instructor and evaluator at several Certified Program pre-tests and training clinics per year and hasn’t missed an Eastern Division Certified Exam since 1989. He has also attended several National Powder Fall events as a representative of the Eastern Division and as an instructor. His extensive service within the legal community includes the rewriting of the ED Bylaws to incorporate the “one patroller one vote” concept. These revisions also served as a template at the National level following the 2005-2006 membership action that resulted in a completely new set of NSP by-laws. His tireless support of the Risk Management, By-laws, Finance and Long-Range Planning Committees and his devotion to serving and protecting the skiing and riding public and front-line patrollers serves as the very foundation of his legacy.
