Contributions to the National Ski Patrol:
Bill DeVarney began his ski patrol career at Wachusett Mountain in Eastern Massachusetts. He attained his Senior Alpine classification in just three years and immersed himself in leadership roles as a Hill Captain (11 years) and as an Instructor and Instructor Trainer. Bill’s contributions to his Region and Division, Outdoor Emergency Care, Instructor Development and Young Adult Patroller Programs were and continue to be extensive. His countless contributions at the national level include serving for decades as a reviewer, contributor and committee member/chair in support for our Outdoor First Care and Outdoor Emergency Care Program Manuals; the Young Adult and Senior Programs; the OEC Test Bank Review; the Instructor Trainer Manual; the Refresher Committee and as an Instructor at multiple Powderfall Events. His passion for and devotion to the National Ski Patrol is clearly reflected by the staggering number of accomplishments at all levels of our organization.
