John W. Shipman

John W. Shipman joined the Wachusett Mountain Ski Patrol in 1986 and in just two years was selected to the Division 50 th Anniversary planning committee. He served the Eastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island Region as Awards Advisor, Senior Training Coordinator, Senior OEC and S&T Trainer Evaluator, Region Administrator and Region Director. John served the Eastern Division as Division Director from 2010 to 2016. While Division Director he served on several National level committees including Governance, Finance, Education and Nomination.
John received National Appointment #8174 in 1996, Yellow Merit Stars in 1988,1998 and 2003 and a Distinguished Service Award in 2001.
During his tenure as Division Director he not only demonstrated strong leadership at the Division level but also at the National level. His service on National committees and his interface with Board Members and Division Directors had a significant impact on the direction of the National Ski Patrol.
