Hi! My name is Julie, a 13 year patroller at Hidden Valley. As a CRNA & educator, I know the importance of maintaining educational standards in healthcare settings like ours.
For People and for the NSP too! I am a second-time candidate for the Board of Directors and thank the NSP’s Nominating Committee for once again choosing me. I welcome the challenge of serving my fellow patrollers if elected. Why The BOD Needs Julie
My Passion Only Grows Stronger...
For People and for the NSP too! I am a second-time candidate for the Board of Directors and thank the NSP’s Nominating Committee for once again choosing me. I welcome the challenge of serving my fellow patrollers if elected. Since last year’s election I have continued to travel and meet patroller’s from areas other than my own, and am fortunate to have support from so many within and outside of my local area. I have reached out via Internet opportunities and attended National Board meetings and will continue to do so, so that in January I am ready to function fully from a knowledge base of current and future initiatives, to think strategically so our organization thrives, and be an asset to our educational programs. It is in education that I am uniquely capable, as my doctoral preparation has provided me with the tools to help in distance education and instructional technologies.
My goals remain the same as last year. Since the NSP and it’s members don’t function independently in the world, what we do as a Board for our organization has to be in congruence with developing issues and other opinions without losing sight of who we are. In working respectfully and collaboratively with our Board, committee members, and office staff, I will
My ability to be successful working with, and for, is supported by my non-NSP work. I have a foundation of successful experiences with boards from my professions of nurse anesthesia (an advanced practice nursing profession) and education (doctorate of education focusing on distance education and instructional technology). I am self-motivated and goal-oriented; and have the time, desire, and experiences necessary to successfully bring diversity on several levels to this board.
In 2005 one of my graduate students in nurse anesthesia suggested that I join the ski patrol. I applied and was so excited to be accepted! The ski patrol was a (much-needed) breath of fresh air in my life. I have been involved, learned, and given back ever since. As a woman, an experienced Senior Alpine Patroller, an Instructor in 4 disciplines (OEC, OET, MTR, and PSIA1), a creative/strategic thinker, and a doer I would like your vote. As a ‘people-person’ I want to meet you, ski with you, talk with you, and hear from you. Find me on social media or through www.skipatrollerjulie.com. I will work diligently to earn your future support.

In working respectfully and collaboratively with our Board, committee members, and office staff, I will
- Encourage conversation with members and non-members
- Consider and solicit a diverse set of opinions from within and external to the NSP
- Act upon an implementation which is based on the research process. The board needs members who are able to share a global as well as a personal point of view to arrive at stronger solutions that benefit the entire organization. I have demonstrated this capability since joining the NSP at the local, region, and division level; and nationally am a Member-at-Large on the Ski Patroller Manual Project Team Committee.
